History About Tartan
The US Army Tartan doesn't have a long historical lineage like traditional Scottish clan tartans. It was created in 2008 by the US Army Institute of Heraldry as a symbol of the Army's heritage and values. The tartan's design incorporates colors representing different elements: dark blue for the infantry, red for artillery and the Army's courage, white for the integrity and values, and gold for excellence. This modern tartan serves as a unique identifier and a tribute to the US Army's commitment to its principles.
